Five Star Cabin Near Bear Valley
“The clearest way into the universe is through a forest wilderness.” – John Muir
Bumping up against the west side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, the Sierra foothills are where California’s past, present, and future merge into one unforgettable destination. A mountain sports haven, Arnold and the surrounding area offers a wide variety of outdoor activities including hiking, bicycling, off-road adventures, golf, fishing, and first-rate winter recreation. It is home to fine dining, historic lodging and unique boutique shopping. The region also stages free live music concerts throughout the summer, and arts and crafts festivals. For those more interested in leisure there are breweries, spas, and wineries in nearby Murphys. Located at the snow line, Arnold receives snow every winter, and shows great seasonal variety in climate, flora and fauna. In addition, its close proximity to Bear Valley Mountain ski resort makes it a popular snow sports destination.
As you open the front door and step in, take a minute to notice the superior craftsmanship and architectural design of our classically-inspired cabin. Each room boasts vaulted ceilings lined with knotty pine planks. Fresh carpeting, central heat, and plush, lodge-inspired bedding ensembles will keep you and your guests cozy and warm during the winter months. Large picture windows and ceiling fans will circulate the crisp, fresh mountain air to keep you cool on tranquil summer nights. A tankless water heater ensures that there is plenty of hot water for 10 guests to shower.
Sip a glass of wine or a dram of scotch on the large wrap-around patio deck and enjoy the venerable trees and fresh mountain air from the 6-person hot tub. Become mesmerized by the sounds of the forest and the vast blanket of stars. Cook a gourmet meal in a fully-equipped kitchen featuring a gas stove or fire up the grill and heating lamp on the deck and cook outdoors.
At the end of your day fire up the cast-iron wood stove which puts out enough heat to warm the entire living area while you sink into the power-reclining, leather Family Room sofas. Put your feet up and watch an HD movie on the large flat screen television enhanced with surround sound and sourced by an Apple TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Hulu, Disney+, and AT&T Now streaming services. If you are in the mood for a more engaging activity, challenge your friends to a classic game of chess or the kids to any number of board games available for guests.
For those looking to telecommute from the mountains, there is a fully-equipped power standing desk in the Loft complete with 27” 4K monitor, Apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard, laptop stand, USB speakers, ring light with tripod, and Logitech Webcam. Enjoy blazing fast wireless speeds throughout the property with 240Mbps down and 24Mbps up. Local power outage? You have a 20kW Whole-House Generac Generator to keep the power on!
Sleeping arrangements accommodate up to 8 adults and 2 kids. Bedroom 1 contains a queen bed and bunk beds to comfortably keep a family of four together. Bedroom 2 is outfitted with two twin beds and the Loft has a pull-out Trundle bed large enough for two more adults. For a romantic touch, the Master suite glows with a remote-controlled gas fireplace and is steps away from the detoxing benefits of an outdoor sauna.
Put on your walking shoes (or snow shoes!) and head 2 miles down Highway 4 to Big Trees State Park. Follow trails to North Grove, the most visited part of this 6,498-acre/2,630-hectare park, as well as quieter South Grove. Summer is the busiest time of year, but spring offers showy white dogwood blossoms, and the colorful leaves of autumn create a striking contrast with the russet sequoia trunks. Seasonal activities offered by the park include campfire talks and guided walks.
Enjoy our home. Rest and rejuvenate after immersing yourself into the signs and sounds of Arnold and Calaveras County. Enjoy wine tasting in scenic vineyards or in historic downtown Murphys tasting room or one of the many downtown Breweries and Eateries.
